Registration

USD 1,000 for each pipeline listing request, payable at the time of the request.

(Note: an annual registry account GBP 600 annually is charged by Wilder Earth).

Validation Review

USD 2,500 for each validation review request, payable at the time of the request.

Verification Review

USD 2,000 for each verification review request, payable at the time of the request.

Issuance Fee

USD 0.30 per SCU, payable at the time of the issuance request.

Note: Projects listed before the 1st October 2024 with a forecasted annual issuance of 10,000 tCO2e or less, will be charged the previous fee schedule (exclusively USD 0.12 per SCU issued).

Validation/Verification Bodies.

 

Annual fee: USD 2,500.00 annually

Methodology admission fees.

 

New methodologies and substantive methodology revisions:

USD 1,000 methodology concept note application fee (non-refundable); plus

USD 10,000 processing fee where Social Carbon Foundation accepts the methodology element into the approval process

 

Modules, tools or minor methodology revisions:

USD 1,000 methodology concept note application fee (non-refundable); plus

USD 5,000 processing fee where Social Carbon Foundation accepts the methodology element into the approval process

 

Methodology compensation rebate.

 

For cumulative SCU issuances from each project applying the applicable methodology within a calendar year (1 January - 31 December):

1 - 1,000,000 units issued = USD 0.02 per unit

1,000,001 - 2,000,000 units issued = USD 0.018 per unit

>2,000,000 units issued = USD 0.015 per unit

 

FAQs.

  • Registration, Validation, Verification and Methodology Fees are based on the average time/cost required for the Social Carbon Foundation team to process these functions. Issuance fees are set at a level that ensures Social Carbon Foundation can cover all costs over the medium term. As a registered charity, all revenues are used to advance our mission. All fees have been assessed against industry standards.

  • Fees are not refundable if a project is rejected or a project request is denied. The fee is payable for each request, including a new request made in follow up to a previously denied request.

  • If issuance is requested after the 30th September 2024, then the new issuance fees will apply.

  • The Social Carbon Foundation has updated its fee schedules to better align SOCIALCARBON's fees with those of other industry standards. This change will help the Foundation continue providing high-integrity greenhouse gas and sustainable development crediting programs that meet the needs of rapidly growing markets, while covering basic operational costs.
